Job Summary

The Department of Environmental Studies at Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in marine ecology beginning August, 2018. We seek individuals who have a commitment to teaching in the liberal arts tradition. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses to majors and non-majors, as well as upper level courses in his/her area of expertise. The teaching load for this position will be three courses each semester, where either a lecture or laboratory section is considered to be one course.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in marine ecology or a related discipline. Teaching experience or promise of excellence in teaching is desirable. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate through their teaching or scholarship that they can contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of our community.
